Hey folks, sorry I've not been around DA for a while - been chilling out in between sorting out computer problems so I will be catching up with my deviation backlog soon, I promise!

Well this is kinda 2 things at once. In one respect it is an experiment. An experiment in painting style. I've been trying to loosen up a bit, and so I decided that loosening up a hell of a lot would be a good start and then perhaps tighten it back up to a level that I like. So details and accuracy have kind of gone out the window on this one in exchange for a lot of atmosphere and...maybe some dynamism? I don't know really but I like the way the path is leading me. I've played a lot with layer blending modes to add texture where I normally don't normally venture - though from now on I will as I like the results.

As for the second element of this - it's for use for my little brother's power metal band! The band's name is Dakesis and they're fekkin awesome. If anyone wants to check them out take a look at their MySpace page [link] it's definitely worth a listen! So yeah, I'm basically the band artist I guess They want a kinda mascot for the band in the way that Iron Maiden have Eddie, Dio has Murray the demon, etc etc. The guy in this was one of the ideas I came up with - the whole idea was for the character to be mysterious, and this guy is just one of the takes on the idea. So this is also a mock up of an album cover too

Let me know what everyone thinks, any crits and suggestions on these experiments would be great
